Tomorrow (Sunday, 30 Jan), the long-awaited staking process begins for SOL Flowers, the 3D flower project that spun out of OG Flowers. The OGs, as well as the truly tiny collection of 50 OG Underworld Flowers are eligible for staking as well.

That process will ultimately lead to a morphing/burning mechanism in with 3D SOL Flowers will become Special and Exotic Flowers… and it will begin the process of emitting $FLWR, the new in-house currency tied to the SOL Flower “petalverse.”

As a necessary part of the morphing/burning process, existing SOL Flowers will continually vanish as new, rarer SOL Flowers emerge — the so-called Special and Exotic Flowers.

The upshot is multifold:

  • Each new flower created will, by definition, be a rare 1-of-1.

  • Jan. 30, 12:01 AM U.S. East Cost Time: Staking begins. You will stake your SOL Flower NFT at a staking site SOL Flower will announce on its Discord channel and through its Twitter feed. If after staking you decide to un-stake, you can do so until Jan. 30, 11:59 PM U.S. East Coast Time without penalty.
  • Jan. 31, 12:00 AM U.S. East Coast Time: $FLWR earning begins. This $FLWR earning session will last until Feb. 5, 11:59 PM U.S. East Coast Time. During this period, no new NFTs can be staked. You can un-stake if you wish, but doing so means you will forfeit any $FLWR you’ve earned. Moreover, you cannot re-stake your NFT until the next 24-hour staking window opens.
  • Feb. 6, 12:01 AM U.S. East Coast Time: Un-staking begins. All holders of NFTs staked for the entire period can un-stake and claim the $FLWR they’ve earned. The un-staking process will end on Feb. 6 at 11:59 PM East Coast Time. After that point, all…
